Hamilton City Council supports the Flamborough Santa Claus Parade

On Saturday, November 30 the Flamborough Santa Claus Parade will be held for the 30th time! Not only is this event a three-decade old tradition, but it’s also unique in that it’s one of the only Santa Claus parades in Ontario held at night. It continues to bring warmth to the community and excited smiles to the faces of thousands - especially children.

I was very proud to bring a motion forward to Hamilton City Council asking my Council colleagues to financially support the Flamborough Santa Claus Parade. At my request, City Council unanimously approved $15,000 in economic backing for our cherished event.

Attracting tens of thousands of people annually, the parade will begin at 6:30pm near Memorial Park (at Rockahaven) and will wind through Waterdown from Hamilton St., to Dundas St., to Main St. and finally looping back to Hamilton St via Parkside Dr. During the parade, be sure to watch for Santa’s special helpers who will collect children’s letters to Santa, just in time for Christmas. Letters should be addressed to Santa Claus, North Polo, HOH OHO. Be sure to include your full return address so Santa can write you back. No postage required!

Amongst the many floats during the evening, be on the look-out for donation collectors, who will be clearly identified as the FSCP Donation team. New this year, you can support the parade via tap on their machines, in addition to the traditional “Loonie bins” for cash donations.
